About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Jurnal Archipelago is an open access journal published and managed by the Planning, Research and Development Agency of the Riau Islands Provincial Government that focuses on issues surrounding Governance. Articles published by Jurnal Archipelago are selected after going through a peer review process.

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Archipelago uses an online submission and review system. The submission and peer review of each article must be managed using this system and based on the following Peer Review Policy:

  • Editorial Board of Jurnal Archipelago is responsible for paper selection and reviewer selection.
  • Manuscripts should normally be reviewed by at least two reviewers.
  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the author, and the author also does not know the identity of the reviewers (double blind review).
  • The review process will consider novelty, objectivity, methods, scientific impact, conclusions, and references.
  • The editor will send a final decision on the submission to the corresponding author based on the reviewers' recommendation.
  • The Editorial Board of Jurnal Archipelago must protect the confidentiality of all materials submitted to the journal and all communications with reviewers.

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Archipelago publishes 2 issues in one volume year in June and December. Each issue publishes 10 articles.

Open Access

Jurnal Archipelago is an open access journal with the Diamond Open Access model which means that all content is freely available at no cost to users, both readers and authors.

Article Processing Charges

Any article submitted to Jurnal Archipelago will not be charged an 'Article Processing Charges'. This includes submission, review, editing, publishing, maintenance and archiving, as well as allowing direct access to the full text version of the article.

Plagiarism Check

The editor will run a plagiarism check using Turnitin for submitted manuscripts. We do not process plagiarized content. If the manuscript has more than 25% plagiarism, we will send the manuscript back to the author for revision.

References Management

Any manuscript submitted to Jurnal Archipelago is advised to use the reference management software, Mendeley.
